I think, especially in this day in age with all the negatives, we need to focus on finding gratitude in the small things. The extra hugs. The smell of fresh grass or even that cup of coffee/tea with a friend. So many things are taken for granted instead of giving thanks for those small things.

SO I BET YOU'VE ALREADY HEARD...
About allllllllllll the life-changing benefits of practicing gratitude. Experts say daily gratitude leads to an overall better mood, better quality sleep, improved friendships and relationships, an increase in positivity, better health...the list goes on!
As a busy Mom, once the day starts it's so hard to remember to actually make that list of blessings (because really, how's a Mom supposed to fit one more thing in an already packed schedule)?
Let's face it - motherhood is busy and at any given moment, you have 1,872 things on your mind. You try to keep all the balls in the air but most days it is just. so. hard!
And despite all your efforts, there's nothing more disappointing than getting to the end of the day feeling exhausted and like you just wish you could enjoy more of your life!
Sure, you got the laundry done (well, part of it). You made lunches, got to appointments on time (kind of), met your project deadline, ran the carpool, started the grocery list, responded to 137 snack requests, helped solve all the arguments, and everyone brushed their teeth (you think).
But what about those other moments? The small, joyful ones that tug at your heartstrings and lift your spirits.
Those are the moments you'd rather be paying attention to!
The sound of giggles coming from the couch at the show that's already been watched 107 times (Bluey or Stuck in the Middle, probably).
A quick hug as your son dashes out the door to go find friends.
The sun on your face as you walk to the mailbox.
The smell of your favorite coffee, a deep breath between tasks, one cleared off countertop, a funny GIF from a friend, an impromptu walk with your sister, new comfy pants (that also look nice), and an "I love you" from your oldest on her way out to practice.
THESE ARE THE MOMENTS! And you've tried to keep a mental record of them, a list on your phone, or maybe you even bought a fancy journal but all of this was impossible to stick to because none of these methods actually fit in your real day.
Because we all know as Moms, no two days are ever alike!
So if you're going to keep up with something, you need options designed for YOUR kind of day (and you'd really love a way to actually fit gratitude into YOUR kind of day so you can start claiming some of those amazing benefits - hello, better sleep! - for yourself!
Well get excited Mama friend, because I have good news for you!
Are you ready to ditch that ever-busy feeling, appreciate more of life's little moments, and start to look back on your day with gratitude (no matter what kind of day you're having)?!
As Moms, there are SO MANY of us who want to practice daily gratitude, appreciate the small moments, thank God for blessings, and love the Mom life we are living.
We've seen/read/heard about the benefits of gratitude - that making a list of blessings can turn a whole day around, boost our mood, improve relationships, help with sleep, increase positivity, and set an even better example for our kids!
But we have THE BUSIEST daily schedules - full of prepping meals, helping with school work, carpools, project deadlines, staying in touch with friends, appointments, and trying to keep up with little mess makers all day long!
How do we also practice gratitude?!
Over the past 20 years, as my own gratitude practice has evolved and as I've spoken with thousands of fellow Moms, I've learned that the simplest answer is this...
If you are a busy Mom who also thinks it's important to take time for gratitude, the solution is to have a variety of options ready and at your fingertips:
You need a way to practice gratitude on days when you have a lot of time, and also on days when you have just seconds.
You need quick prompts to help you think of your blessings when your brain is too tired to work, and also thoughtful prompts for rare moments when you have more time to reflect.
You need a way to see your small moments add up next to your to-do's, and also space for your gratitude to shine on its own.
In order to practice daily gratitude, Moms need a way to fit gratitude into every kind of day!
Imagine having 6 easy ways to turn to, to keep track of your gratitude so you can watch those moments that matter add up to great joy in motherhood!
Here's what that would look like....
Remembering to look for the good no matter what kind of day you're having because you have a collection of tried-and-true ways to make that happen in your actual real-life day!
Appreciating the small moments - the ones you usually miss in the chaos - and allowing THOSE MOMENTS to become your focus because you have 6 new options when it comes to writing them down.
Thanking God for blessings as you watch them add up right there alongside the million other things calling for your attention(yes, it is possible to be frantically busy or overwhelmed AND grateful at the same time!).
It's important for me to fit gratitude into my day because it leads to greater positivity, which can unfortunately be hard to come by these days. Positivity and gratitude are things I want to teach my boys, and modeling those qualities myself is the best way to do that.
